I recently saw Mita Gami perform the most extraordinary set alongside Adam Ten at a wedding in London. An unforgettable night that sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole…

Israeli conductor and composer Meir Briskman reached out to electronic producer Mita Gami in July 2022 with an idea: to fuse electronic music with a full live orchestra. The two had already been touring a symphonic live set across traditional venues, but the next chapter would take the vision far beyond.

Burning Man is not known for classical music, nor is it a place you’d expect to find a live symphonic orchestra performing with perfect cohesion. But that’s precisely what makes this story so special.

With the goal of assembling a full ensemble of classically trained musicians already attending the event, the duo launched a casting call through a simple Instagram story. What followed was an outpouring of interest from around the world and somehow a full orchestra took shape.

Rehearsal time was limited, the conditions were unpredictable and yet, the performance that unfolded was nothing short of spectacular. After asking around about the live experience and watching the video below, this collaboration is a lovely reminder that when intention meets spontaneity, magic can happen.
