Little Miss Sunshine

While not the first film that would come to mind when thinking about a “psychedelic film,” Little Miss Sunshine is one of my all-time favorites, and I have long wanted to share it on Funga. Not only do I find it incredibly funny, but there are such important life lessons and pearls of wisdom spread throughout the movie. Most importantly, it is also one of the most beautiful depictions of a family unit I have seen on screen. It reminds me of the bond I share with my family, who are equally unhinged.

I especially love the relationship between the young girl and her grandfather, portrayed so brilliantly by Alan Arkin. I’ve included a scene that deeply resonates with me—a touching moment that serves as a beautiful reminder for us all:

“If I wanna fly, I’ll find a way to fly. You do what you love and f**k the rest.”
