Below I have compiled a playlist of my favorite songs from Le Grand Bleu. As mentioned in this month’s film post, this movie was a huge part of my youth, and the soundtrack is a big reason why I love it so much. Every time I listen to it, particularly the opening song, The Big Blue – Overture, it brings up a mixed feeling of nostalgia and excitement for all that’s still to come.

The music was composed by Éric Serra, a French composer and frequent collaborator of Luc Besson, the director. Another noteworthy soundtrack he created was to the James Bond film Golden Eye.
